Occasional Overtones: <full image> <next> <review> |
Late Sunday afternoon, 4th July 1999: The guitar and sitar featured on this CD were originally recorded on audio tape to utilise audio compression. Pickups and two microphones were used to capture the characteristics of the sound. The track were then transferred to digital recording equipment using minimal EQ to preserve the overtones and harmonies. The additional sounds were recorded digitally. Trying to slip back into everyday life after a 21 day track in the Himalayas can be quite a challenge. After our return home we moaned about it for weeks and it inspired the words to a song. A few more melodies and ideas emerged all reminiscent of our adventure. I've put them together here as snapshots for you. Maybe you have been through the same or maybe you intend to see Mt. Everest for yourself one day. So you can say: "Been there, done that, bought the CD!" Tracklist: 1) Ticket to Katmandu 3:56 Parts of the proceeds of this CD go to the Fred Hollows Foundation (www.hollows.com.au)
